Daniel Shar is a North Carolina American comedy writer, actor and performer who has built a unique career working on the edge of the adult entertainment industry. He studied journalism in Shar Missouri, but in the end, he began to deal with sketches and improvisation in Chicago before moving to Los Angeles, where he currently writes television and film comedy. The 37-year-old actor, 170 centimeters tall and weighing about 68 kilograms, is a special speciality of taking exclusively non-sexual, non-naked roles in erotic films.
Shar's career began in a sex shop in Chicago, where he was still a virgin selling sex toys for nearly four years and lost his virginity to half his career. He then took on work related to various sex industries, including writing erotic scenes, watching television pilot, appearing in Brazilian advertising, making audio porn, managing women's OnlyFans accounts and ultimately not sexual side-roles in erotic films.
The best known works of the actor include erotic films such as "All The Sex He Owes Me" (2024), "BBC In Me 2" (2025) and "Birth" (2024), where an incel was a gynecologist. He is particularly proud of staying dressed and not participating in sexual scenes in all his roles, yet he has built a successful career in this area.
Shar's writing work was also significant, he wrote and directed an independent film entitled "SPRAPS," which was available on Amazon Prime Video and co-created the pilot episode "Jonathanville TV" and several web series. He was selling jokes to The Onion and Funny Or Die and performing on Conan.
In 2024 Shar created his one-man theater performance "Near Sex For Work," which tells a real life story from the virgin sex toy seller to the adult movie character actor. The performance was ranked among the best things of The Comedy Bureau 2024, and nominated at the 2025 AVN Awards in two categories: Mainstream of the Year and Best Non-Sexual Formation Award.
